Is it allowed to bring baby strollers inside the museum?
Baby strollers are allowed inside the museum. There are lifts and ramps on every floor. We offer designated area for parking strollers outside the restaurant. Restrooms with changing tables are found on floor 3 and 4.
Do I get free admission or discount at the Vasa Museum?
0–18 years old: Yes, but children under 12 years old need to be accompanyed by an adult. 19 years old: Not if you visit privately. You get free admission when you visit the Vasa Museum with your High school class. Certified guide: Free admission, upon presentation of your guide ID. The card is valid for one person.  Companion: Companions to visitors with disability are granted free admission upon presentation of certificate or attestation. Can I arrive at another time than what is stated on the ticket?
An entrance ticket to the Vasa museum is valid throughout the day. You can visit the museum when it works for you to during the opening hours. Click here to see Vasa Museum's full opening hours. If you have tickets to Brickwrecks, the time slot is stated on the ticket. You have 30 minutes to enter Brickwrecks. Kulturnatten Stockholm 2025
On Saturday the 26th of April 2025 the Vasa Museum will be part of Kulturnatten Stockholm. Between 18:00 and 24:00 the Museum will have free admission. Can we eat packed lunch in the museum?
The Vasa Museum cannot offer indoor space to eat packed lunches. If the weather is nice, there are plenty of places outside the museum building on Djurgården, where you can have a picnic. We recommend that you plan meals before or after the museum visit. You can also eat at the Vasa Museum's Restaurant. What is a combination ticket?
At the Vasa Museum we offer combination tickets valid at our museum, as well as our sister museum Vrak – Museum of Wrecks. The combination ticket is valid for 72 hours. You can purchase combination tickets through our website. It is also possible to purchase tickets when you arrive to the Vasa Museum or Museum of Wrecks. Visit the Museum shop without buying a ticket

Can I bring my dog to the Vasa Museum?
Pets are not allowed in the museum, except for service animals. Do you have questions about assistance dogs or animals, email the Booking Office.
How much time do you need when visiting the Vasa Museum?
In general, visitors stay at the Vasa Museum for one and a half to two hours. The film about Vasa is about 20 minutes long, and if you want to join a guided tour, it takes about 30 minutes. It's always good to have some extra time to walk around and discover the exhibition on your own and maybe visit the Museum shop or restaurant.
Is there a way to skip the queue?
There are no tickets that give priority in any queue to the Vasa Museum. All visitors wait in the same queue, even if they have pre-purchased tickets. It is therefore recommended that you purchase your ticket upon arrival. Please be reassured that you will be able to enter the museum. It usually doesn't take longer than 20-30 minutes to get in to the Vasa Museum, even in the high season.
Luggage restrictions
Wheeled cases and large items of luggage are not allowed in the museum. It is permitted to bring handbags and smaller backpacks (lap top size), which you carry in your hand, on your back or your front during the entire visit. Please do not leave your bags unattended at any point during your visit. We recommend visitors to store luggage at the luggage storage at Stockholm Central Station.
Is it possible to pay with cash?
The Vasa Museum is a cash free museum. This makes the museum a safer place for visitors and employees. In our entrance, shop and restaurant you can easily pay with debit/credit card. We accept American Express, VISA, Mastercard, Diners Club International and Maestro.
What is the difference between Vasa and Wreck
The Vasa Museum showcase one wreck from 1628: Vasa. Vrak – Museum of Wrecks opened September 2021 and is a sister museum to the Vasa Museum. Vrak – Museum of Wrecks is about Marine Archeology and wrecks that can be found in the Baltic Sea. When is the best time to visit the Vasa Museum?
The best time to visit the Vasa Museum is in the afternoon on a weekday. During summer (1st of June – 31st of August), the best time to visit the Vasa Museum is at 08:30–10:00 in the morning, or between 16:00–18:00 in the afternoon. We know from experience that many visit the Vasa Museum in the morning and lunch time, as well as weekends. We recommend that you plan you visit Monday to Thursday afternoon, if possible. Most visitor visits the museum on Saturdays. Regrettably we cannot guarantee the exakt day and time when it is busy at the Vasa Museum, as it  is impossible to predict what applies for each day.
