There are both archaeological finds and written documents about food and drink on Vasa.
The document concerning the distribution of provisions between the ships, is still preserved in the Swedish archives, and on this document it is specified that Vasa was provided with bread, ship beer, meat, dry fish, herring, salt, peas, etc.
We know that there were animal onboard Vasa, as there are animal bones are identified among the archaeological finds.
Some kind of alcohol was found in a pewter bottle, in the captain’s cabin.
